The Magnificent Eyes

Posted by Lucy Walter on

The eyes are complicated and delicate body parts. They help us sustain ourselves by providing key information about the environment around us. For this reason, it is important to take care of your eyes with exercises and awareness.

In other words, in the same way, that you might dedicate yourself to exercising and staying fit, you should also dedicate yourself to taking care of your eyes.

Take time to think about the collective experience of humanity these days. We spend an incredible amount of time in front of our computers, phones, and other screens. Do we even enjoy the simple things in life anymore? The natural color of leaves, the hustle, and bustle of the city block?

Nowadays there is little time to enjoy things away from our iPhones and computers. Not only do we lose the enjoyment of life this way, but we are also steadily loosing the agility of our vision.

The Causes For Decline Of Vision

While some people suffer from bad vision starting in childhood, others won't develop real problems until later in life. These difficulties may be corrected to some extent by glasses and contact lenses, but the main issue is that people are still addicted to unhealthy habits that cause their problems to worsen.

The use of screens these days leads people to use their eye muscles less and less. They are using their brains first to process new information, which is then transferred to the eye. Normally this process would be done the other way around. The eye should be the one transmitting information to your brain. Do you understand the difference in this chain reaction?

Ways to prevent eye problems and the importance of good supplements.

How to improve your eyesight in a natural way is always asked by people who understand the importance of our eye in our daily living. Eyes cannot be overstressed and you should have knowledge on how to improve your eyesight. You may face certain eye problems as you age because of the stress the eyes come under each and every day. This may require the use of glasses to aid in correction vision problems. Before you get to that point of needing glasses or contact lenses here are some things you can do for yourself to improve your eyesight.

Try not to sit watching your television or in front of your computer screen for too long a time frame. It is best to stop now and then to look around.

Limit your exposure to the sun's ultraviolet rays by wearing sunglasses.

One important thing you can do is to engage in some eye exercise on a regular basis. One simple eye exercise you can do involves focusing your eyes on items that are located close to you and far away and do this while you breathe gently.

There are also remarkable supplements which you can take that have been proven to be good at promoting the vision and eye health. Some of the key ones are Vitamin E which works to reduce the occurrence of Macular Degeneration, Vitamin C which helps to keep the tissues protected, Vitamin A which helps in preventing cataracts, and Zinc which works to strengthen the cells.

Another key tip is not to touch your eyes. There are a lot of germs and bacteria around that can cause eye infections. You should also stay away from using any chemicals around the eyes as these may get into the eye.

It is also important that you visit your eye doctor at least twice a year so that any vision problems can be quickly addressed.

I have lately discerned that more and more people are interested with lutein. I ask why. The answer is lutein can help improve their vision. I also have looked at some data and found that lutein can enhance people's vision, in particular for the old people.

But what is lutein? I have found that it is an essential part of our retinas and is responsible for our central vision. Without it, our vision will be greatly declined. Or from another perspective, lutein is one of the carotenoids and can be found in many foods, like leafy vegetables.

Lutein is firmly related with an eye problem called Age-related Macular Degeneration (AMD), as we grow old. Lutein is responsible for our central vision, so people with AMD will have some blind spots in the eye center. Sufficient lutein in the eyes can prevent the occurrence of AMD or even cataracts.

Now that lutein is crucial for our vision, how much should we intake each day? Generally, one is suggested to intake a least 6mg everyday. However, one can also intake more if they are greatly insufficient. No case has ever proved that lutein can cause any side-effect.

Now that we should intake sufficient lutein each day, how can we get it? Some data has showed that lutein can be gained from foods, especially leafy vegetables. Of course, lutein can also be found in egg yolk, fruits, etc.

It is very hard for us to eat so many foods if we want to have sufficient lutein. Then, how to deal with the problem? Some lutein supplements are ideal alternatives. Only a few pills can ensure the sufficient amount of lutein.

In most cases, we can get other essential nutrients in lutein supplements. These nutrients can help maintain our eye health.

Zinc is often used together in lutein supplements, for this can prevent AMD in a more effective way.

I strongly suggest people who are lacking in lutein take some good lutein supplements, so as to make eyes brighter.
